3 observations from Grand Rapids Griffins' season-opening win
After a slow start, the Grand Rapids Griffins found their rhythm, securing a 3-0 win against the Milwaukee Admirals led by two of the Detroit Red Wings' top prospects.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The first period wasn’t the greatest start to the 2024-25 season for the Grand Rapids Griffins — at one point trailing the Milwaukee Admirals 11-3 in shots in their season opener Friday — but just as last year’s team was able to weather the storm and eventually turn the tide, this year’s iteration did just that en route to a 3-0 win at Van Andel Arena.
The 2024-25 Griffins have a lot of familiar faces from last year (two of which were a big part of the win), but there also are some new veteran players that should help the team push for another playoff berth.
